Goliath SdKfz. 302

The Goliath demolition drone was developed by Wehrmacht officers as a demolitions vehicle after capturing a french prototype of something similar. The Goliath carried 60 Kilos of explosives and was controlled via a reel of over half a kilometer of cable! Despite almost 8000 of them being produced, they weren't deemed to be very useful or successful due to their low speed, rubbish ground clearance and paper thin armour.

  1. Forge World nicked this idea, iirc they didn't even change the name!

    1. You are correct. The FW Goliath is about as useful as the real world example too ;)

  2. Now when you say controlled does that mean there are some sort of servos in that thing?

    1. The Goliath was connected to three long cables. One controlled the left track, the second, the right track and the third one controlled the detonation. Later versions did include radio control (this is in a post coming soon)
