Sayonara Zombies! Moshi~Moshi munchy Zombies!

Yesterday saw a nerve-wracking decision. I was supposed to be painting up some Deadzone models for two of my friends (father and son) as their Christmas present, but with the painting challenge going on  I wasn't confident in getting them done this week... I've been babysitting a copy of Zombicide season 1 for Aidan so that his son doesn't find it, so yesterday I swapped out the unpainted models in his set for my painted ones. I know they are going to a good home and will be enjoyed, mostly because we play Zombicide around their house anyway!

This act of Christmas cheer just increased my pile of unpainted plastic for the challenge by another 64 models though. What have I done?!

Thankfully Carmen has come to the rescue with his brilliantly executed idea of black and white zombies with full colour heroes and heroines. Not overly keen on the completely green or red zombies, but I have some ideas  here... vaguely inspired by Frank Millar's Sin City. I also need to see if I can execute some half way house for the zombivors too... it would be neat to see them fading away from the real world into the world of the dead somehow.

Anyway. The test models have come out nicely and, once the first batch is completed, will add another nice chunk of change to the Painting Challenge. Hopefully this initial mob will be ready to submit tonight...

  1. Those zombies in the picture are the old ones, not the work done on the samples for the challenge. There's only 15 of those ;)

  2. That has warmed the cockles of my heart, what a generous gift Paul.

    1. I was supposed to be painting them each the leader of a Deadzone force and then letting them finish painting the rest... but that seemed really lame, especially given the time constraints
