It seems that overnight we passed 2000 page views since the 17th of June. Page views are an interesting value that both has meaning and really doesn't. In general they are good indicator of how much activity is taking place, but as most of this will be from those damn referral spam sites, it's mostly the wrong activity. I was about to have a rant about referral spammers skewing the results and how page views don't, in the grand scheme of things, mean all that much.... but it's early and I just don't care enough. Sorry.
The stats that I'm happier to celebrate are the 19 followers and 80 comments, most of which are from the last month too and really show that at least someone is interested in the randomness that gets posted here. Here's to picking up that one remaining follower and hitting 20 ;)
I need to dig through the box of stuff I do not need any more and have a give away to try and boost readership as everyone seems to love a competition... more on that later when I find it!
Hmmm so the captcha is still on? I thought I'd told that to go away... I shall fix that now!
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Any suggestions to make people's lives easier are gratefully received
DeleteYeah, captcha is a killer, I've got rid of it, too and had no problems with spam. You just have to make sure only registered people can comment, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteAs for the view, they don't matter, but I don't know... I still keep track of mine, just don't look at the counter anymore :D. If you know people is looking at the blog is not the same as if they're commenting, which really gives a nice feeling someone finds interest in it :P
Comments are certainly a much better indication of how popular/useful the site is
DeleteI always enjoy popping into read your posts
ReplyDeleteDitto what James said. Always a good read.
