Zombtober take 1

Thanks to some technical hiccups yesterday thanks to the iOS 11 upgrade, I missed the first Zombtober deadline. So a day late, here is the first of the survivors from Zombicide season 3 kickstarter, Lucius Leon.

The zombivore version of him has gone into the pool of zombies as we tend not to use the zombivore mode. At some point he'll be done up in black and white like all the others to appear as an VIP so we don't have quite so many of Elvis wandering around.

One down... many many many more to go.

I did paint up another figure, but the photos highlighted a few issues with the paint job, so he has gone back to the painting table for later in the week.

  1. Love how you've painted the mini. Brilliantly done

    1. Thanks! Annoyingly a lot of the brush strokes became very visible when I changed the exposure... he looks a bit less scrappy irl. Ah well

    2. Ah, photography is the bane of the figure painter. Its happened to me more often then not, so I can sympathise. It also makes it worse, our practice of magnifying the miniatures to show the paint job - so a tiny 'real life' brush stroke becomes centimetres long on the screen.

    3. I'm always tempted to crop the photo to be closer to real life size

    4. In truth, that's basically what I've started now to do. Photograph from further away and reduce the pixel size of the image to around 650-700 (either in the height or width, whichever is larger). When I was on the forums I noticed that's most of the chaps did and they were getting better responses than I was, so copied there method and got a sudden increase in replies. I still hate photographing paint jobs, though.
