This is one was in service for a lot longer than I was expecting. In 1914 a requisition order went out for all available Silver Ghost chassis and converted into a new armoured car. It saw service throughout World War 1 and World War 2, via the Irish Civil War. Most of their action seems to have been in the desert where wheels weren't an issue.
Originally the vehicle was equipped with a .303 Vickers, but later got converted to use a Boys anti-tank rifle and a .303 Bren.
Sadly only 5 of the seem to have survived.
This would be great for commuting, or possibly the school run.
