I loved the orange and white scheme in WD and the codex, but the white was just too clean for a group of miners; but this ochre and granite scheme fits (in my mind) the theme more as well as tying it into my existing Guard without repainting them :DEndtransmissionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11668764504686502861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6603057587595070497.post-76522030308039137552016-10-07T07:20:54.293+01:002016-10-07T07:20:54.293+01:00My theory was that the mining suits the hybrids ar...My theory was that the mining suits the hybrids are wearing would be bright so they can be seen in the mines.

My original cult from RT/2nd Ed was purple though :)Endtransmissionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11668764504686502861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6603057587595070497.post-64055122980366969902016-10-06T23:24:05.341+01:002016-10-06T23:24:05.341+01:00Awesome! It really sets of nicely against the blues/purples of the cultists skin and chitin - I think you've sold me on which way to go. :)

Looking forward to seeing 'em come together!Mordian7thhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04631987711681654113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6603057587595070497.post-83345144526777267792016-10-06T22:44:54.749+01:002016-10-06T22:44:54.749+01:00I'm going with the classical blue and purple f...I'm going with the classical blue and purple for the genestealers.

For the hybrids I'm doing their pads and armoured collars in grey with metal bits here and there, but the pants and jackets underneath are various shades of drab, brown and field grey. (Having lots of WW2 colours may have influenced me a little bit).

In my mind they are just plain workers' clothes, any colourful spots will be from their Genestealer influence, like a reddish or purplish hue to the skin, or the blue carapace on the ealier generation hybrids.
Some hybrids though have pieces of cloth tied around an arm or hanging from the belt, and I have painted them purple to tie them in with the purestrains. The rationale being the hybrids mark themselves with the purestrain colours if they look too human.

But I think your colour scheme works very well!Laffehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09125733864107467243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6603057587595070497.post-42612812732647579212016-10-06T20:28:39.461+01:002016-10-06T20:28:39.461+01:00Oh I have an absolute ton of guard bits and pieces...Oh I have an absolute ton of guard bits and pieces that have started to go onto the cult figures, including helmets. I don't (currently) want to rework the guard as they will also do double duty as regular guard, though some do probably need a bit of a touch up in places.

I just noticed that the cadian has blue eye lenses that are about the same blue as the hybrid skin! :D Endtransmissionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11668764504686502861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6603057587595070497.post-11143037613188154872016-10-06T20:19:43.361+01:002016-10-06T20:19:43.361+01:00The colour scheme works. It helps give things a sense of belonging, Maybe scrape off the imperial eagles to make the guard look a little less human.
