Work, Work and prep work

Things are very quiet, but frantic at the moment. We've got a couple of large deadlines looming in the next two weeks for work, which is taking me away from prep work for the painting challenge. Normally we deal with large corporations like OPEC or Red Bull, but occasionally we get to work with something that will help people find peace. It doesn't seem to be all that well advertised, but if you've lost someone close to you, the Missing Person's Bureau is the nicest bunch of folk you could hope to meet. This week saw the 1 year anniversary of the site we built for them and already they have helped 4 families gain some closure.

4 doesn't seem like much, but when you consider that these 4 cases have been open for about 15 years and the identification process takes 9 months (ish), that's an amazing statistic. It is not the flashiest of sites and there is a *lot* I want us to improve for them over the coming months and years, but what it does is make me proud to have been able to help them help others, just a little.

Anyway. On to the reason you are here. As you may have noticed, I've started to tally up the models that I'm going to attempt to paint over there on the right, under Winter Painting Challenge 2013. This page will hopefully keep score of what I'm building, painting and *fingers crossed* finishing over the course of the challenge. At the moment it's looking sparse, but there are still 250 zombies left to clean up and put on there which should go some way to helping with the totals.

Next weekend is also the Mantic open day, which means I get to pick up Deadzone*, which will add a small mound of restic to the plastic mountain. Hopefully I'll get lots of nice photos there too.

* an unfortunate accident of putting that in the same post as the Missing Persons Bureau... oops!

  2. Hello Paul, can you send me another email. It seems I've misplaced yours in the mountain of Challenge correspondence. Thanks!
